But, unless you plan on driving flat out, on unfamiliar roads, in the wet, it’s not really worth paying the extra over the normal two-wheel-drive Carrera. But if you do insist on the Carrera 4 don’t bother with the more expensive 385bhp S model because it doesn’t really feel any faster and only go for the convertible if you want your 911 to be slightly slower, not handle so well and look a little rubbish. And that last issue is something that Porsche really should fix.

Porsche 911 Targa 4 Not only does the Targa look great, but the glass canopy creates a unique ambience in the cabin. On the move, scenery rushes past and over you - just as it does in a cabrio. But here, wind noise is dramatically reduced. Special sun filters added into the glass cut out heat and UV rays, ensuring the cabin is cool and comfortable, too.
